Hair Extension FAQ’s and Care Tips

FAQs

  • Currently, I am certified in two different beaded row methods. The Habit extension Method & Dopelengths hidden Row Method. I've chosen to support and receive educations from these companies because after extensive research I love and believe in these companies. Not only are the owners of these companies powerhouse entrepreneurial women, but they are stylists behind chairs in their own salons. They have put these methods to the test for years and have cultivated an education method that I've implemented behind my chair and fallen absolutely in love with the results. I  source hair from JZ Styles, Dopelengths, Covet & Mane, Salon extensions + others.

  • I think it's unrealistic & a lie to say, absolutely not. Putting your hair into a  ponytail is damaging...Do I think that beaded row extensions are the least damaging method of hair extensions on the market - 100% yes. WHY? Unlike many other methods, the tension placed on your natural hair by beaded rows is much less. You will have 15-20 beads placed in a U-shaped row on the head - working with the natural curve on the head will prevent extra tension in certain areas such as the fronts of your hair. As a professional, I have been trained on how to place the beads and wefts of hair to provide you a seamless lightweight blend - as a hairstylist it is my oath to never compromise a client's hair.

  • Girl, YAS. 90% of my beaded row clientele have either very fine hair or are recovering from chemical damage. There has not been a head of hair yet that I've met that can't support beaded rows! Let me help you get those luscious locks you've been dying for!

  • It all depends on what your goal is. If you are looking for just a little extra density and no extra length, obviously it'll be cheaper than if you are looking for a  whole new long lush look!  The BEST way to determine the price of your extensions is always to come in for a  consultation!

  • The installation of your extensions takes approximately 3 hours (depending on type and amount) and includes the preparation of your natural hair, extension installation, blending trim and of course, at Creative Beauty, I will give you your care instructions and tips on styling your new, fantastic hair!

  • Before taking on you on as an extension client, I do require a consultation.  During your consultation, I'll educate you on your possibilities thru extensions - including different game plans. We will look at color rings & pick out the extension color that best matches your dream hair. We are able to darken hair extensions - add a  smudge root, add low lights, tone a blonde down a little if it's too bright. We are NOT  able to lighten hair - so sometimes it's best to go lighter and darken it to our specific needs.

Extensions are also an AMAZING way to add highlights, balayage, lowlights, dimensions into your natural hair without having to chemically treat your hair! My objective is to give you the hair of your dreams and protect the integrity of your natural hair - you deserve it all!

Hair Extension Care Tips

"With great power comes great responsibility."

Now that you've invested in your hair extensions and have them installed... you probably want them to last as long as possible. I've put together a little hair extension  "Dos" section to help you care for your new hair. Your stylist at Creative Beauty will explain proper maintenance to you before you leave the salon, and you can always call us or pop in for advice.

  • Purchase a good quality detangling brush and take care when brushing your hair  extensions

  • Use good quality, salon professional products on your hair. (Sulfate and paraben-free,  non-alcohol based)

  • Purchase a good quality, deep conditioning masque for use on the ends of your hair weekly. Again, do not apply directly to bonds (weft)

  • Keep hair out of saltwater, heavy chlorine, and hot tubs

  • Completely dry your hair before going to sleep - Never sleep on wet hair extensions - We suggest securing your hair in a braid or pony and wrapping in a silk scarf, or use a silk  pillowcase to sleep on

  • Discuss any planned future chemical services with your stylist before completing  them to ensure that they will not affect or damage your hair extensions

  • Keep your scheduled maintenance appointments with your stylist and have adjusted as necessary
